Mercedes Porteous, RVT

Registered Veterinary Technologist

Mercedes is one of our amazing RVTs at Elizabeth Street Pet Hospital. She originally grew up in Cold Lake, Alberta. Mercedes' passion for animals started at a very young age when she started riding and showing horses at her Grandma’s farm. From there, her love of animals led her to pursue a career in the animal industry, where she discovered the Veterinary Technology Program at Lakeland College in Vermilion, AB. Mercedes graduated from Lakeland College in the spring of 2019. After college Mercedes left home and moved to Southern Alberta to start her new career in the animal health field and joined the ESPH family in 2021. She says that her favourite part of her job is getting to educate clients about their pets and perform radiographs.

Mercedes lives with her fiancé, and their two kitties, Cleetus and Wilson who always keep them on their toes! In her downtime, Mercedes can be found going for adventures to the mountains or curled up watching movies with her furbabies!

Dear Clients,

Due to the current changes coming from Alberta Health, we have gone back to a limited capacity policy as of Monday, September 20th, 2021.

This means that we are allowing one client to come in for their pet’s appointment, provided that they are properly masked the entire time when inside of the clinic.

When you arrive for your appointment please call us at 403 982 8387 from the parking lot.

We are making these changes for the safety of you and our staff, and we appreciate your business and patience during this time.

To help limit exposure and to keep our clients and team members safe, we urge you to check out our new online store at https://www.myvetstore.ca/elizabethstreetpet for food purchases.
